Hey all!

Just wanted to post a quick update on the state of the server, as well as our shift in plans.

We've made some progress with our chat and titles plugins, however I've decided to take some time off from Java development in order to create some custom web software for both this server and some personal projects.

This means that our first game will be delayed for a bit, and our new target goal is late March to mid April.

For the time being, we're posting our old maps from the survival server, you can download them below.

These links will be active for at least a few weeks, but may go down any time after that.

We've been hard at work on the server, since the last announcement at the beginning of this month, we've made significant progress, including

• Creation of the hub & creative servers
• New chat & title plugins written from scratch, will be deeply integrated with our other games
• Start of the first map for our first game mode (More on that later)

We've made progress on much more than what was listed, however those were the biggest points so far.

From here on out, we're able to let everyone follow our ideas for the server, as well as our progress a bit more closely.

After much thought to the current state of the server, the staff of The Storm has decided to take the server in a new direction.

We have been operating as a survival server for many years now, and we have seen periods of success although it's evident that it doesn't keep players, and is very hard to grow a player base out of, despite seeing periods of success we feel that a change is needed in order to both provide new challenge to myself, as well as make the server more accessible to others, and draw new players in.

Because of this, we will be shutting down our survival and creative servers this month, and will release our maps for anyone to download. Shortly after this, we will be opening a hub server as well as a unique...

Hey everyone!

As mentioned before, we've been working on the town plugin, and we're happy to announce that it's now live on the survival server!

This plugin should help make the server easier to start out on for new players, as well as simplify the way towns work for everyone else. Anyone can start a town with /town create, and /town help will give you a list of all available commands.

If you run into any bugs/errors with the plugin, please report them in the bug reports section of the forums.

We still have a long way to go with this new plugin, however it's a good start and it'll only get better from here!

Hey all!

We're still working on adding new features to the server, as well as improving old ones. I've been working on a custom town plugin for our server for around a month now, and it's approaching the point to where we can start using it on the live server. Currently it cannot be used to claim land (This will be added soon), however you can create towns, nations, invite players to them, etc.

You can test this plugin now by going to /server test, /town help will get you started. We ask that you report any bugs or suggestions under feedback on the forums.

We have a lot planned for this plugin, and it allows us to have some special integration with the rest of our custom plugins such as
- Chat channels...

Some of you may of noticed the downtime/extreme lag today, this was due to an optical fiber cable at our servers datacenter being accidentally cut.

It lasted around 6-8 hours before the cable could be repaired. Our server, website, and other services were down for that time. Everything looks to be fine now, and you should be able to connect without issue.

We've been working on another update for the server, which will reintroduce a few old features. This will be releasing in parts over the next week, and we'll be working to add more to the server as time goes on.

Skylands
A new world will be added soon, in which all tier I towns will receive a free 500x500 territory. This world doesn't reset, and uses a new skylands generator to provide a new style of islands. This world will be the only one in which you can harvest storm shards

Hey all!

Just a quick announcement, our Halloween event is now live. You can go to 11 different doors at spawn, open them up and receive a random trick, or a treat!

This event will last until the end of October 31st, meaning you can knock on these doors 44 times!

Rewards are random, currently there are
- Items such as music disks, diamonds, and beacons
- Crystals in various amounts
- Food

We will be adding more rewards such as Storm Shards on Halloween as well!

Hey all!

I've been working hard the last few weeks getting everything in line for the server, we're progressing slowly but it should start picking up in a few weeks now that I've finished updating our older plugins.

Just to recap, here's what I've done

• Rewrote chat plugin to easily add more multi-server features in the future
• Rewrote titles plugin to sync between servers
• Rewrote server messages plugin to cover more death messages as well as function better
• Created NPC plugin to re-add talking NPCs as well as NPC trading at spawn

This has been my focus for a while, and now that these plugins are up to par, I'll be free to work on making some more in the near future, hopefully getting another 2-3 out in the next...

We have another 3 quests added, with 3 more that will be added within the next few days! As always, the wiki has the latest info on them.

Ready for Battle will begin a new quest line, so you'll want to get that one done if you want to continue through it to earn a special title when the rest of the quests are done.

We're also going to be adding new quest types in the near future, now that we have plenty of quests that you can use to get easy crystals, we can spend more time on fun quests.

Hey all!

Today I've added purchasable disguise packs to the server shop, you can check them out by clicking this link, or by going to the disguises tab on the shop page.

You can purchase 5 different packs, all priced at $3.50, which allow you to disguise as different mobs on both the survival and creative server. You will undisguise after taking damage.
