Yesterday if you logged onto the server, you probably noticed that we updated fully to 1.8! This means that you're able to use all 1.8 features such as the new mobs, blocks, mechanics, etc. Not everything may be fully functional currently, however it seems that everything is mostly intact.
For the update, we did sacrifice a few things. Most notably are NPCs, and therefore quests. This means that until we can get some bugs ironed out (Might take a few days) you will be unable to do any quests or purchase any perks. You'll also not be able to see most NPCs.
We did add a new world to the server as well, a mining world! This world will allow you access to any new features that came out in 1.8, along with features that might come along in future versions of Minecraft. This world will reset every so often, most likely between 2-3 weeks, so please be sure to not build anything of importance there. The mining world has a warp right next to the Skylands. Since the mining world is meant mostly for resource collection, we have disabled PvP in it. Also special rules apply to the mining world, namely griefing is allowed, everything is fair game with the exception of locked chests.
We are still expanding spawn, creating quests, and updating the wiki. For now the focus is on refining and documenting the features added over the last few weeks.
